Aster Unveils Mobile Clinics in Kerala

Mobile Clinic to take medical care to remote villages in Kozhikode District … reports Asian Lite News. 

Dr.Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman & Managing Director- Aster DM Healthcare and Mar. Remigiose Inchananiyil, Bishop of Thamarasserry Diocese & Chairman of St. Alphonsa Palliative Care & Charitable Trust flags off the Mobile clinic in Kozhikode District – Kerala in presence of Mr.Benny & Mrs. Sherry and other dignitaries from Aster MIMS Charitable Trust and St. Alphonsa Palliative Care & Charitable Trust.

Aster MIMS Charitable Trust and Benny & Sherry Foundation under the aegis of St. Alphonsa palliative care charitable trust launched a Mobile Clinic that will take the modern medical care to the remote villages in Kozhikode District. This unique service was launched at the St. Thomas Parish Hall, Koorachund, Kozhikode on the 23rd of December and will serve the people of 40 remote villages in the district.

The Mobile Clinic was inaugurated by Mr. Purushan Kadalundy, MLA Baluserry, Mar. Remigiose Inchananiyil, Bishop of Thamarasserry and Chairman of St. Alphonsa Palliative Care & Charitable Trust,Mr. Benny Pulikkekkara, Founder, Benny & Sherry Foundation, Dr.Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare and Fr. Simon Kizhakkekunnel Director, St. Alphonsa Palliative Care & Charitable Trust.

Speaking about the service in the press meet, Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director – Aster DM Healthcare said, “Aster Mobile Clinic is our way of ensuring that the people of remote villages of Kozhikode District get access to good quality healthcare. The Mobile Clinic will help ensure early diagnosis as well as treatment of medical conditions to ensure long term health for the people of these villages.”

“The Mobile Clinic has been designed to include an Examination Room, 2 Out Patient Rooms and a Patient Waiting Area. The Clinic will hold Medical Camps in two locations daily with experienced physicians, nursing staff, lab technicians and supporting staff. The clinic shall visit 40 villages in a month. The camp will also provide some free medical services and have facilities including Physician’s consultation supported by laboratory, pharmacy and Blood Pressure check.” He added

On the occasion of the launch of Mobile Clinic, a Mega Medical Camp and a Cancer Awareness Programme as part of the Cancer detection Projectwas conducted. Mr. Babu Parassery, President, District Panchayat, Kozhikode inaugurated the Mega Medical Camp and Mrs. Vincy Thomas, President, Koorachund Grama Panchayat  inaugurated the Cancer detection Project.

Benny Pulikkekkara, Founder, Benny & Sherry Foundation said, “We are extremely happy to support this initiative as it is delivering the essential medical help to the most deserving people. We are planning to extend this service to more areas in the coming future “

Fr Simon Kizhakkekunnel, Director, St. Alphonsa palliative care charitable trust said, “the mega Medical Camp and Cancer detection project which we have arranged along with the launch of Mobile clinic will be beneficial to the people living around Koorachund. Knowing cancer and detecting it at an early stage through this cancer detection project will help to cure it completely.”
