Coca-Cola donates large quantity of foreign coins to Currency Charity Bank … reports Asian Lite News.
Coca-Cola has donated large amount of foreign coins to Currency Charity Bank, an initiative launched by Dubai Municipality in line with the Year of Giving 2017 and also in support of the charity projects around the world.
Coca-Cola collected these coins from its automatic vending machines in different areas of the country, which some people had wrongly deposited instead of UAE currency for buying Coca-Cola drinks.
The company officials said that after collecting these foreign coins from the vending machines, they are sent to charity boxes of various charity organizations operating in the country to be used for charity activities as the company believes that instead of storing the coins they can be used to support charity activities.
After the launch of Dubai Municipality’s Currency Charity Bank initiative, Coca-Cola contacted with the Municipality to know the objectives of the initiative. As it was not generally possible to trade foreign coins in the country, Coca-Cola quickly decided to contribute them to support Currency Charity Bank by delivering large quantities of foreign coins to the Municipality.
Coca-Cola will popularize the initiative in all its branches and encourage employees to contribute the surplus of foreign coins in support of charity. Coca-Cola will be present at the forthcoming events of the Currency Charity Bank in support of the initiative.
The foreign coins were handed over to Mariam Bin Fahad, Director of Knowledge Management Department in the presence of a number of officials from the Municipality and Coca-Cola at Dubai Municipality main building.
Bin Fahad pointed out that the continued contributions of surplus foreign currency to the Currency Charity Bank confirms that the idea has become established in the minds of people who wish to do charity and at the same time it is a large indicator of the love of the people of the UAE for charity and to make efforts to ease the life of people around the world.
