The H Hotel has become the first five-star hotel in Dubai to support Dubai Municipality’s Currency Charity Bank initiative. The initiative aims to collect all surplus international currencies and coins from the members of the community and turn it into a fund used to support charitable projects around the world in cooperation with the Emirates Airline Foundation.

As the emirate’s tourism and hospitality sector is one of the most important supporters of the Currency Charity Bank, the management of H Hotel in Dubai, in conjunction with the Year of Zayed launched the Currency Charity Bank initiative based on the hotel’s corporate social responsibility commitment.

The management of Hotel H, which is located on Sheikh Zayed Road, inaugurated the Currency Charity Bank Box in the hotel lobby in the presence of Mariam Bin Fahd, Director of Knowledge Management Department of Dubai Municipality and General Supervisor of the Bank, Gonzalo Rodriguez, General Manager, H Hotel and Valeria Krupina, Director of Training and Human Resources at the hotel and a number of hotel staff.

Bin Fahad explained the initiative, its objectives, the results achieved so far, and the organizations supporting the initiative by contributing the surplus international currencies and coins for charity and to help those in needs.

The hotel also produced and showed an awareness film about the Currency Charity Bank in their hotel rooms with an explanatory card on the initiative to encourage guests to participate in the initiative.

Krupina said that often they find some international currencies in the hotel rooms after the guests leave, which are not used and may be thrown as waste. “Therefore, the hotel management issued a circular to all employees of the hotel not to throw them in the trash and to put them in the Currency Charity Bank box placed in the hotel lobby,” she said.

“It is a great pleasure for the management of the H Dubai Hotel to be part of this charity work, which we all hope will contribute to providing better living opportunities for some of the world’s population,” added Krupina.

Bin Fahad thanked and honored the management of the Hotel for its support and cooperation with the Currency Charity Bank initiative in the hope that the rest of the hotels in the Emirate of Dubai will also support the initiative.
