Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL) and the General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defense recently held a meeting to discuss UAE fire protection requirements. The was attended by Captain Taher Al Taher, who headed by Civil Defense, Ismail Almas, Head of Product Quality Control Division in DCL, and Nada Al Awadi, Head of Evaluation Division in addition to a number of engineers and experts from both the sides. The two sides discussed issues of common concern, which included the UAE Fire Protection and Life Protection Requirements 2017, and the methods used for the approval and testing of materials and methods of checking on the thermal insulation plants.

During the meeting, they stressed the need to strengthen coordination and cooperation to facilitate the provision of services to customers and developing them, in addition to the need to fulfilling the requirements and calibrating the products used in the construction projects to the requirements of the UAE Fire Protection Guide. The delegation visited the Engineering Testing Section to see the equipment and tools available in the laboratory. The delegation praised the DCL’s efforts in developing its services using the latest laboratory equipment and the efficiency of the employees, which contributes to the highest accuracy of the tests of different materials and calibrating products for the purpose of granting a certificate / mark of conformity.
