DM set to train fresh graduates

Dubai Municipality initiative in cooperation with private sector to train new graduates … reports Asian Lite News.

Dawood Al Hajiri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, affirmed that this initiative is the first of its kind in the promotion of on-the-job training through cooperation with the Municipality’s strategic partners in the private sector, especially those working in areas that are in line with the functions of municipal work.

“The initiative aims at providing graduates with basic skills in their fields of specialization in line with the Municipality’s plans for development. It will also strengthen the base of partnerships with the private sector through knowledge exchange, transfer of specialized knowledge and adding new practical expertise in the fields of specialization. The Municipality looks forward to achieve these at the hands of specialists in this field according to the latest methods of training, which will contribute to build their abilities and enable them in the field of specialization,” he said.

Al Hajiri added that training for new graduates would take a full year and the Municipality will undertake a careful follow-up through all stages of training.

Marwan Bin Bayat Al Falasi, Director of Human Resources Department of the Municipality, emphasized that this program is the starting point and also the turning point to achieve further gains in continuous and sustainable development and training by activating the strategic partnerships of the Municipality with the private sector institutions and companies.

He pointed out that the initiative included a number of training and qualification areas aimed at honing the efficiency of national cadres in order to enhance their performance and develop their abilities through continuous training and educational methods to ensure excellence in performance and outputs according to advanced training techniques that meet the challenges of the next phase on the needs of customers to reach beyond their expectations.

“Continuous development and modernization has become a feature of our contemporary life and an approach that our officials encourage us to follow until our departments and institutions are in the forefront of improvement and progress” said Aisha Al Hammadi, Director of Human Resources Development Section in the Human Resources Department.

“We have to not just achieve quality and effectiveness of services, but should maintain it and fight relentlessly to enhance it. Hence, we have a double responsibility that demands from us to push towards greater creativity and reach new horizons with more creativity and innovation,” she added.
