The Survey Department in Dubai Municipality recently received a delegation from the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority.
The delegation reviewed the experience of Dubai Municipality in the field of monitoring the impact of earthquakes on the towers, strategic installations and public facilities as well as the Municipality’s meteorological system to predict fog and sandstorms.
The review was done to ascertain the Municipality’s preparedness to support emergency plans with instant information and smart applications that support public safety and security, especially during earthquakes and atmospheric monitoring.
Eng. Iman Al Khatibi, Head of Geodetic and Marine Survey Section said that the visit supports the integration between the bodies responsible for activating the emergency plans and determining the role of each party to complete the plan as well as how to link the outputs of the systems automatically with the authorities and how to make the most of those outputs.
