Gurudwara Dubai marks Guru Nanak’s Birth Anniversary

Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara Dubai formally announced and began on Friday, 23rd November 2018 the yearlong celebration of Guru Nanak Devji’s 550th birth anniversary next year.

Gurudwara Dubai has planned community service activities every month starting December 2018 until 23rd November 2019, which is the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji.

H.E. Mr. Navdeep Singh Suri, Indian Ambassador to UAE, was the guest of honor in the morning program. Mr. Suri was happy to share in his speech that India and Pakistan have agreed to build a corridor for Sikh pilgrims to visit Kartarpur where Guru Nanak Devji took his last breath to leave this world for his heavenly abode.

Meanwhile, H.E. Mr. Vipul, Consulate General of India in Dubai, reaffirmed the Indian expatriates that the Consulate will always be available to look after the needs of the community during his speech as the guest of honor in the afternoon program. Mr. Vipul also mentioned that people can appeal and inform their needs through Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara Dubai as they work together in providing assistance to the community.

Approximately 60,000 people attended the event last Friday. Kirtan (prayers) were held and Langar (meals) were served to all visitors from 5.30am to 9.00pm that day.
