Oman celebrates its 48th National Day

His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, presided over the military parade, which was staged at the military parade ground at the command of the Royal Guard of Oman to celebrate the National Day.

Upon His Majesty’s ascension to the Royal Box, the parade columns gave the military salute, the Royal Anthem was played by the joint military musical parade band while the artillery fired a twenty-one gun salute to His Majesty.

The columns of the Protocols Guard performed its military parade accompanied with musical pieces of the joint military music in a regular motion passing before the Royal Box, giving the military salute to His Majesty, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

The joint military musical parade band staged various musical pieces from the ancient Omani heritage.

The parade was also attended by military attaches, senior military commanders and officers, state senior officials, sheikhs and dignitaries.

Sultan Qaboos

23 expats have been granted Omani citizenship through a royal decree during the National Day celebrations.

On this spectacular day, airports across the UAE warmly welcomed Omani visitors with Omani flags, flowers and sweets while major UAE landmarks were illuminated with the Omani national colours.

The Department of Tourism and Culture – Abu Dhabi organised a number of cultural and entertainment events marking the 48th National Day of Oman.
