Dubai Municipality carries out intensive pest control campaign in Ramadan … reports Asian Lite News.
The Pest Control Section in the Public Health Services Department of Dubai Municipality has intensified the field control campaigns in the holy month of Ramadan by activating the “Together for the comfort of fasting people” campaign for Ramadan tents and popular restaurants.
During the campaign, daily pest control program will be carried out in and around the tents to ensure a comfortable, healthy, bug-free and convenient environment during the Iftar period to ensure the safety of fasting people and to maintain the highest health and safety standards.
To carry out the campaign, an inventory of the Ramadan tents in the Emirate of Dubai is collected in cooperation with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department and the Food Safety Department in the Municipality.
An integrated plan was put in place during the holy month of Ramadan to carry out the control operations early morning before the temperature becomes high during the day for all 110 Ramadan tents distributed throughout the Emirate of Dubai.
The campaign aims to provide a safe environment free from the causes of nuisance and disease carriers, especially during the Iftar time in Ramadan tents, in order to maintain the comfort of the fasting people and ensure the safety of their meals.
The Pest Control Section has intensified the monitoring and inspection operations in coordination with the Food Safety Department around popular restaurants to ensure the supply of meals hygienically and prevent possible insect infestation, with recommendations for immediate disposal of waste in designated places. The Pest control campaign covers 40 popular restaurants across the Emirate of Dubai.
Eng. Hisham Abdulrahman Al Yahya, Head of Pest Control Section, said that these campaigns are part of an annual comprehensive and integrated control plan covering all of Dubai at all times and in all circumstances.
