UAE students score top marks in CBSE class 12 exams

Indian schools in Dubai have reported that their students have done well during this year’s CBSE class 12 exams. The results were announced on Saturday, 26th May. The toppers secured high 90s overall.

For the Gulf region there is no toppers list issued by the New Delhi based CBSE board. More than 2,700 students have attended the examination this year from the Gulf region.

In India more than a million students attended the exams this year, with the overall pass percentage increasing by 1 per cent to 83.01 from last year. Students of Trivandrum region topped with a pass per cent of 97.32, followed by Chennai with 93.87 per cent and Delhi 89 per cent. Meghana Srivastava from the state of Uttar Pradesh got the highest marks, scoring 499 out of 500.

In the Science stream, Avelyn Kishore from GEMS Our Own English High School in Sharjah scored 98.4 per cent, which could be the highest score for the UAE in Science, based on results shared by schools.

In the Commerce stream, Raina Shah earned 97.4 per cent, which her school, Indian High School (IHS) in Dubai, is the highest Commerce result for the UAE.

At IHS, Chaarulatha Kumar scored 96.4 per cent in the Humanities stream, is the highest in the UAE for Humanities.

Also scoring 96.4 per cent in the Humanities stream, Nabiha Siddiqui was the school topper, and the UAE topper, from Delhi Private School (DPS) in Dubai.
