Oman to host Book Fest 2019

Embassy of India, Muscat, Oman and Indian Social Club Oman in association with Al Bhaj Books will be organising this year’s Book Fest in Oman … reports Asian Lite News.

More than 60,000 books in 12 different language await the book lovers during the Book Fest 2019 in Oman. The event will be held at the Multipurpose Hall at Indian Social Club in Darsait.

Apart from showcasing the latest literary masterpieces, there will be Essay Writing, Elocution, Colouring Competition and Poetry Recitation for the participating children.

This year the main theme will be ‘150th Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’. Detailed information about his role, right from his entry to the freedom struggle until our independence will be displayed at the venue, which will be an interesting aspect of the event.

The first Indian Social Club Book fest was held in 2018 in the month of March. Al Bhaj Books, being the premier book distributors in the country, held hands with the honourable Indian Embassy and the Indian Social club, Muscat to organize a prime Book Fair. This was a good opportunity for the Expatriate community to visit a major Book fair in Oman.

Shri Nambi Narayanan, ex ISRO scientist was our guest of honour in the 2018 event. His presence was an opportunity for the Indian community to meet him in person. His addressing to the crowd was excellence at its best.
