Sheikh Nahyan welcomes Swami Maharaj to the UAE

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance, officially welcomed His Holiness Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj, the world renowned Spiritual Head of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar-Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) headquartered in India, at the Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) at the start of his 11-day visit as a State guest of the UAE. And, in this Year of Tolerance, following the recent visit of His Holiness Pope Francis, it is a noble gesture by the Government of the UAE.

His Holiness Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj and His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan were honoured with a shower of flowers by young children dressed in colourful traditional costumes. While conversing with His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj prayed for the good health and prosperity of the rulers and people of the UAE as well as for those who live in the entire region.

His Holiness Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj is the Spiritual Head of over 1,200 mandirs and 4,200 centres of spirituality worldwide and guides the BAPS’ numerous social, spiritual, cultural, educational, health, disaster relief and other activities. He is highly revered among spiritual leaders worldwide and is the inspirer of the upcoming BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi.

During his stay, His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj will be presiding over the Foundation Stone-Laying Ceremony of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Mureikha on 20 April, 2019.
