TBH Foundation launches ‘Salam Beirut’ campaign

The Chairperson of The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF), Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, has on Monday announced the commencement of ‘Salam Beirut’ programme. The move aims to coordinate emergency aid and relief from Sharjah to the blast ridden Beirut.

The first phase of response will focus on providing medical aid, food and water supplies and shelter to victims. This will be mobilized by Sharjah based TBHF in coordination with on-ground relief operators in Lebanon.

Apart from this, the TBHF officials along with their local partners will carry out a detailed assessment of the damage to property to implement targeted activities. The foundation intends to provide affected households with rehabilitation support including rubble removal, in addition to offering solutions to boost vital services like electricity, sanitation, plumbing and carpentry maintenance.

Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi has called on all individuals and organizations in the UAE and the world to join this humanitarian aid process. “What has hurt Beirut has hurt us all,” she wrote on Twitter.

“The ‘Salam Beirut’ campaign follows the strong humanitarian spirit and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to stand by nations in their time of need,” she added.

More information about the aid programme can be accessed through the official website of the foundation – https://tbhf.ae/.
