Chiranthana launched its 31st book at an event at Sharjah Indian Association. The book written by Dr Naseehath Kalam is based on real life experiences.

“Chiranthana has stepped away from the usual practice of collecting money from the writers to publish their works; we have followed the same procedure during the books that we have launched previously,” said Punnakan Mohammed Ali, President of Chiranthana.

“We always look beyond monetary benefits, Mr Mohammed Ali added. “The selfless efforts of our team and the support of UAE Exchange make it possible.”

Dr Naseehath Kalam is a librarian at Mannaniya College of Arts and Science , Thiruvanathapuram. The book narrates the preparations and completion of a pilgrimage. The book was part of the doctoral thesis.

“UAE Exchange, a book loving organisation, will always support such endeavours in the future,” said Mr Nambiar.

Media personality Nissar Syed introduced the book to the audience. Nishanth Narayan, the creative director who designed the cover of the book, was honoured by Indian Association President EP Johnson by giving a ‘Ponnada’. The event was attended by prominent members of socio-cultural fields and media industry. Rainbow group’s Cochin Kayees Restaurant was co-sponsor of the event.

Ismail Melady, Ramesh Payyanoor, Abdullah Mallasherry, K Balakrishnan, Santhosh Nair, V Manoharan, Rafeek Memunda, Ragesh Kannur, Praveen Palakkil Payyanoor, Abdul Aziz, Reena Salim, Usha, Sakeena, Praveen Balan, Amina Nissar, Pangottu LA Amir were the prominent personalities addressed the audience. TP Ashraf welcomed the audience and CP Jaleel deliver vote of thanks.

“Chiranthana’s 32nd book will be a collection of Ramesh Payyanoor’s radio experiences,” said Punnakan Mohammed Ali during the event. Many writers also requested Chiranthana to publish their works during the occasion. The president clearly stated that publishing will be done purely on the basis of merit.

Also during the day, the audience applauded the decision of Reena Salim, when she announced that she will be going ahead with her doctorate being inspired by the book. Prominent social worker, Ashraf Thamarassery was a special guest during the event.
