Fatima College & Medeor Ink Deal

The Fatima College of Health Sciences, a subsidiary of the Institute of Applied Technology, signed an agreement with the “Medeor 24×7 International Hospital” in Al Ain, with the aim of promoting academic cooperation and creating educational and development opportunities for the college’s students in the specialist areas of nursing, emergencies, first aid, pharmacy, radiography, and physical therapy, as well as to provide them with opportunities to take part in advanced and specialist scientific training at the hospital.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Daryl A. Cornish, Director of the Fatima College of Health Sciences, and Dr. Arun Menon, Director of Operations at Medeor 24×7 International Hospital in Al Ain. Also in attendance were Dr. Ahmed Abdul Manan Al Awar, Director-General of the Institute of Applied Technology; Dr. Hamed Alneyadi, Executive Government Relations Director at the Institute of Applied Technology; Dr. Yasmine Maher, Medical Director of the Hospital; Yasser Jahangir, Financial Director; and Okail Hisham, Director of Public Relations.

Dr. Al Awar said that the agreement is part of the institute’s strategy that includes many important goals, such as training specialist medical and healthcare staff and providing specialist work opportunities for the college’s graduates at the hospital, which is part of the VPS Healthcare Group.

Dr. Menon said that the hospital is committed to employing UAE citizens, while noting that its partnerships with relevant institutions, such as the college, will enable their staff to improve their health services skills.

Dr. Maher noted that that the agreement has many goals, such as exchanging healthcare expertise and training medical staff, as well as conducting joint teaching and research, while affirming that it will open opportunities for the graduates of the college, which attracts talented women who can answer the needs of the country’s health sector. She also expressed her hope that the agreement will eventually include all subsidiaries of the VPS Healthcare Group.
