James Siggers, co-founder of Benjamin Siggers, a bespoke visiting tailor with sustainability at the heart, describes his style in three words: “timeless, simple, quality”. Over the past four and a half years, he has translated his passion for custom gentleman’s attire into the creation of tailored pieces for hundreds of men.

Born in Sydney, Australia and with English heritage, James Siggers has resided in Dubai for the past four years since relocating from London, United Kingdom. Graduating with a degree in Geography from Newcastle University, Siggers’ direction took an unexpected turn when he began his career in 2014 with Tom James, the world’s largest custom clothing company, going on to become General Manager in Dubai in his final year with the company.

After realising through his work the demand for bespoke tailored menswear and the devastating environmental cost of the fashion industry, Siggers and his now-business partner, Matthew Benjamin, were compelled to create a tailoring company with sustainability at its heart, intertwining their values and names to form Benjamin Siggers.

Inspired by traditional Italian style and craftsmanship, Benjamin Siggers officially launched in the UAE in 2017 and has since emerged as “one to watch”. Driven by the belief that the true cost of a garment includes the environmental and social costs, Benjamin Siggers works with sustainable materials and partners with manufacturers and suppliers that employ traditional methods and adhere to humanitarian standards. Experts in luxury menswear tailored to the busy lifestyle of the modern day gentleman, Benjamin Siggers offers a bespoke, made to measure visiting tailoring service with the convenience of “at home or work” visits for its clientele.

Ever since he can remember, Siggers says he has been passionate about the colours, designs and feel of fabrics. “I can spend hours looking through fabric books, admiring and studying,” he says. His fascination with the impact a person’s choice of clothes can have on one’s psyche, and the difference bespoke tailoring can have on the individual is what he says spurred the move into his own business venture.

Speaking on his experience through Benjamin Siggers, Siggers says he also feels fortunate to have crossed paths with countless inspiring gentlemen and clients. As a big horse racing fan, he has had the opportunity to encounter His Highness Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at the Royal Ascot and in future, he hopes to have the chance to tailor for His Highness.
