Aster hosts PACESprep MRCP UK students

A total of 16 candidates from all over the Middle East participated in the course, which has been conducted five times earlier at MIMS Hospital Kottakkal in Kerala, India and this happened in Dubai for the first time.

Aster Hospitals Dubai, a world-class facility under Aster DM Healthcare, a leading provider of healthcare in the Middle East and India, recently hosted international medical education program PACESprep course at its unit in Al Qusais.

The PACESprep is a preparatory course for physicians, who aspire to become Members of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) UK. A total of 16 candidates from all over the Middle East participated in the course, which has been conducted five times earlier at MIMS Hospital Kottakkal in Kerala, India and this happened in Dubai for the first time.

The course was conducted by senior examiners of the UK the Royal College and directed by Dr Abraham Chacko, Consultant Cardiologist in UK and Dr Tahsin Neduvanchery, Consultant Cardiologist at Aster MIMS Kottakkal.

Other faculty members included Dr Peter Newman, Consultant Neurologist; Dr Deepak Dwarakanath, Consultant Gastroenterologist; Dr Brian Cooper, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Dr Thomas Charlton, Senior Registrar in Oncology, all from the UK.

Commenting on the event, Dr Sherbaz Bichu, CEO of Aster Hospitals Dubai, said, “We are glad to have the opportunity to host such a prestigious medical programme at our facility in Dubai. The course focused on demonstrating clinical cases and teaching doctors the communication skills that are needed to practice medicine in a professional and ethical manner and to become members of the Royal College of Physicians.

On the final day, the candidates took a mock examination. They were taught the skills by very experienced examiners, who have together examined over 5,000 doctors all over the world. We look forward to conduct the course annually in Dubai.”
