Scholars Seek Safe Ramadan

The General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has urged all Muslims to prepare for the Holy Month of Ramadan and abide by precautionary and preventive health measures when performing all acts of worship

The General Secretariat issued the following recommendations for all Muslims:

First: Muslims shall abide by the decisions of competent authorities in their countries or countries in which they reside, which aim to preserve public health and limit the spread of the novel Coronavirus pandemic.

Second: Muslims shall perform obligatory prayers and Taraweeh prayers at their homes if competent authorities in their countries or countries in which they reside recommend them.

Third: Muslims must avoid gatherings, given that the gathering is considered the main cause of the spread of infection according to relevant medical reports, including communal Iftar and Suhoor meals.

King Salman lauded

The Arab Parliament praised the efforts being exerted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to face the Coronavirus pandemic and its repercussions, citing, in this regard, the monarch’s chairmanship of the G20 Virtual Summit, which was held last March.

This came in a resolution issued by the meeting of the Arab Parliament Bureau, which was held virtually today under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Arab Parliament Dr. Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Sulami, on “facing the Coronavirus pandemic in the Arab world”.

In another resolution, the Arab Parliament welcomed the announcement by the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen of a two-week comprehensive extendable ceasefire, praising the role played by the member countries of Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, hailing the continued support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the United Nations humanitarian response plan in Yemen.

The Arab Parliament condemned, in the strongest terms, the launching of two ballistic missiles by the Houthi militias against Riyadh and Jazan at the end of last month, which were intercepted and successfully destroyed by the Saudi Air Defense Forces.
