India bagged a silver and a bronze at the World Skills Competitions Abu Dhabi 2017. This is the best ever performance by India since the country began participating in the WorldSkills’ challenge in 2007

Mohit Dudeja won a silver for Patisserie and Confectionery whereas Kiran bagged a bronze for Prototype Modelling.
Indian Ambassador to the UAE Navdeep Suri congratulated the winners and the contingent for their excellent performance. The Indian team, comprising 28 competitors, also won nine Medallions of Excellence.
Over 1,300 candidates from 59 countries competed across 51 skill categories this year. Nine Medallions for Excellence were won in trades/skills like mechatronics, brick-laying, restaurant service, automobile technology, jewellery, graphic design technology, mobile robotics, beauty therapy and car painting.

Mr Suri inaugurated the Indian Pavilion at the exhibition. The three main components of the stall were Hire for India, investments in India (for Skilling) and Advisory services. CII and FICCI along with other partners were given the responsibility of leading and promoting skills-Beauty Therapy, Mechatronics, Cabin making, Welding and other key skills through their exhibition at the India Pavilion. States of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh were set up their stalls to promote the investment opportunities in skilling and setting up Skill Parks.
