International Yoga Day Celebrations in Dubai

Zabeel park became the venue for thousands of Dubai residents to meet and practice yoga with world renowned yoga instructors. The event was organised by the Indian Consulate … reports Asian Lite News.

Dubai residents celebrated the 4th International Yoga Day by participating in yoga sessions with world renowned yoga instructors. Thousands gathered at Zabeel park, to take part in the event organised by the Indian Consulate.

Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s speech was broadcasted to the participants. Consul General Vipul also addressed the yoga enthusiasts.

The yoga sessions were held on stage in front of the participants. There were also posture and fitness competitions and sessions held by various yoga schools.

The event saw the participation of popular yoga instructors Rajesh Jagasia and Nouf Marwaai.

Rajesh Jagasia is a software engineered turned international instructor of the Art and Living Foundation, a humanitarian and educational non-governmental organisation. Jagasia led a session of pranayama.

Nouf Marwaai is a Padma Shri winner, one of India’s highest civilian awards. She is Saudi Arabia’s first certified yoga instructor. Founder of the Arab Yoga Foundation in Saudi Arabia, her efforts were instrumental in making yoga legal and getting official recognition in Saudi Arabia.
