Kerala King honours support staff and is now planning to visit the southern state to meet Chief Minister Mr Pinarayi Vijayan….reports Feroze Shah
Kerala Kings, champions of the first ever international T10 cricket tournament, held a glittering reception for its supporters and fans at the Rixos Jumeirah Plaza.
Over 200 invitees comprising the who’s who of the business and sports world and the media hailing from the state of Kerala celebrated the victory. Kerala King co-owners Dr Shafi Ul Mulk and Adam Ali played gracious hosts to the gathering. Mementos of appreciation were presented to the support staff who had worked so diligently to make this victory possible.
Addressing the guests on this special occasion, Adam Ali co-owner of the Team said Kerala Kings victory is first on an international level.
“This will serve as a great impetus for the growth of cricket in Kerala,” he added.
The T10 matches attracted a huge Kerala fan following.
Dr Shaji Mulk, Chairman of theT10 League, expressed his delight at the victory of the team and the resounding success of the tournament which had been held at the iconic Sharjah stadium from December 14 to December 17, 2017.
“Come February 20th, two more teams and their owners will be announced as the 2018 tournament expands,” he said.
According to Dr Shafi Ul Mulk, the co-owner of Kerala Kings, the value of the Kerala Kings franchise has already doubled and the brand name and value is expected to grow more in coming years. He expressed his delight that theT10 League was now a fixture on the international cricketing calendar.
A delegation led by Dr Mulk and Mr Adam Ali is expected to visit the state and present a replica of the trophy to the Chief Minister of Kerala,Mr Pinarayi Vijayan as a gesture of goodwill and a step towards encouraging initiatives to build cricketing facilities in the states.
