As part of its AED10 million commitment towards Dubai Cares which was announced in 2017, Lulu Group International has handed over a donation cheque of AED 1 million in support of Dubai Cares’ global education programmes. The cheque was presented by Yusuff Ali M.A., Chairman and Managing Director of LuLu Group International, to Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer at Dubai Cares on the event of the inauguration of the new Lulu Hypermarket in Al Warqa, Dubai.

Yusuff Ali M.A. also updated Al Gurg on the progress of the Point of Sale, POS, fundraising initiative that is running across all of LuLu Group International’s Hypermarkets in the UAE during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The initiative which is in partnership with Dubai Cares, invites customers to donate AED 1 or more at checkout, towards Dubai Cares’ Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Schools programmes in developing countries. He also had words of encouragement for Dubai Cares for doing noble programmes to spread the importance of education.

Speaking on the occasion, Al Gurg said, “We are very grateful for Lulu Group International’s generosity, which reiterates the incredible spirit of charity and philanthropy that is embedded within the UAE’s business community. Today’s contribution highlights Lulu Hypermarkets’ deeply rooted belief in our cause and the work we do.
