Northern Warriors beat Rajputs by seven wickets with 25 balls to spare as they cruise past the target of 65 in a bowler-dominated encounter that saw the newcomers Northern Warriors lead the tournament points table with 10 points from six matches at the 2nd Season of the T10 League on Friday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Northern Warriors’ wicket keeper Nickolas Pooran destroyed Rajputs field deployment by 45 runs unbeaten in convincing partnership with Dwayne Smith, both took off with winning strokes.

Khary Pierre who took three wickets for 10 runs was adjudged the Player of the Match. While talking to media at the post-match press conference, he said, the T10 is a great format it needs a certain mental strength to keep control and keep the hitting momentum.

Captain of winning Northern Warriors team Daren Sammy, said T10 format has the great potential to reach to the world level because there still space for formats like T10. He says the team who has better bowling line-up is in a better position.

“Team with the best bowling side will win and it’s the bowlers who will make a difference, not batsmen,” he said.

Northern Warriors won the toss and chose to field and won the match losing just three wickets.

Earlier, Rajputs played 10 overs and scored 64 for 8 wickets. Consecutive fall of Rajputs lost the grip on game and tumbled to ground. However they fought with full spirit and batsman Qais Ahmad stood on the ground with an unbeaten 19 runs.
