Dr Sreekala Sreehari, a Consultant Histopathologist from UK, is currently the Histopathology Lead of Centralised Histopathology department at NMC Royal Hospital, Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi. She is one of the core tumour board members of NMC Oncocare.
She was graduated from Government Medical College, Alapuzha, Kerala, India and did her Post Graduation from Government Medical College, Kottayam. She went to UK for further training and served NHS till 2010. Later she joined Amrita Hospital, Kochi as a Senior Specialist. She joined with NMC Healthcare in 2013.
In the past five years she was instrumental in developing the Histopathology department of NMC Healthcare with report standardisation, Implementing and validating Immunohistochemistry, frozen section, introducing tumour board meetings and Centralisation of Histopathology services.
Currently being the Country advisor to UAE of Royal College of Pathologists UK, Dr Sreekala actively participates in conducting and presenting at various regional and international conferences; both for the pathologists as well as for clinicians. As an External Assessor of UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Services) for ISO 15189:2012 for Medlabs she is a staunch supporter of Quality of Medical Laboratories worldwide. Apart from that, she is a member of Emirates Pathology Society, Pathological Society of Great Britain and Ireland (PathSoc), Royal Society of Medicine and European Society of Pathology (ESUP).
Her key areas of interest include Oncopathology related to Breast, Colon, Endocrine, Male and Female genital tracts. She is actively participating in the National cancer screening programmes related to breast, cervix and colon in the region.
