President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of congratulations to Emperor Akihito of Japan on his birthday.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, also dispatched similar cables to Japan’s Emperor.
This is the last time he celebrates his birthday as the head of state before his scheduled abdication on April 30, 2019, after a reign marked with pacifism and his closeness to the Japanese people.
