UAE leaders receive King of Bahrain

King Hamad, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed toured the 550-square kilometre love lake, which features 16,000 olive trees, Christ’s Thorn, Acacia Tortilis and Mesquites, as well as some 800,000 bushes and three walkways covering 7 kilometres … reports Asian Lite News.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received on Sunday His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and King Hamad exchanged talks on the existing distinguished relations between the UAE and Kingdom of Bahrain and ways to enhance them in all domains in the best interest of the two fraternal countries.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, attended the meeting.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed accompanied King of Bahrain to the heart-shaped lake ”Love Lake” near Marmoum Rest house in Dubai. The man-made lake was established under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid to be a lively symbol of civilisation and humanity, which reflects the rooted values of the leadership and the people of the UAE for love, tolerance and coexistence among various nationalities living in the UAE and Arabian desert, and mirrors patience, giving, honour and generosity.

King Hamad, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed toured the 550-square kilometre lake, which features 16,000 olive trees, Christ’s Thorn, Acacia Tortilis and Mesquites, as well as some 800,000 bushes and three walkways covering 7 kilometres.

King Hamad listened to a presentation about the lake, which was created from two fresh water lakes.

Local and international visitors can hike and relax in four rest areas set aside for resting, and twenty sitting areas where they can sit, eat, drink and converse.

According to the information presented by local officials to King Hamad and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, the lake also has a 500-capacity parking area, as well as many animals and birds, such as desert foxes, deer, falcons, houbara bustards, ducks and various reptiles.

King Hamad expressed his admiration for the accomplishment, which attracts visitors and tourists from the UAE, neighbouring countries and around the world, who can learn about desert life and enjoy its clean environment away from the noise of the cities.

He also hailed the efforts and ideas of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, who aims, in cooperation with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, to make their people happy and showcase the UAE’s civilisation and humanitarian values, while wishing the UAE’s people further advancement, prosperity and development, in light of his wise leadership.

The meeting and tour were attended by H.H. Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympics Committee; H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Athletics Association; Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Diwan; Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Sheikh Salman bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Among who also attended were H.H. Sheikh Diab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Department of Transport; H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority, EAA; Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court; Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director- General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai, and a number of officials.
