Indian Embassy hosts Colours 2019 by Bhavalaya

Indian Embassy Oman holds art event for empowerment of women conceptualised and presented by Bhavalaya … reports Asian Lite News.

Art connoisseurs across Oman were treated to a collection of 16 paintings by eight Omani and Indian artists on the theme of ‘Empowering Families by Empowering Women – A valued perception’, displayed at the Indian Embassy auditorium on Wednesday.

The event titled ‘Colours 2019’ was conceptualised and presented by Bhavalaya, a global platform for promotion of art and culture, the day also witnessed a traditional Bharatanatyam performance by renowned danseuses Padmini Krishnamurthy and Kumari Shivani Krishnamurthy who vowed the audience with their stupendous movements and a repute that transcends geographical boundaries.

Their performance was based on the theme, ‘Different Perspectives of Womenhood.’ HE Munu Mahawar, the Indian Envoy was the chief guest.

A motivational book authored by Muscat resident, Amina Yusra on self-empowerment, ‘The Magical Voyage of the Phoenix’, was launched at the event managed by Eazy Touch Active Media.

“The event was a unique convergence of women who have excelled in art, dance and literary arenas, who have shared their thoughts and inspired the rest,” said Dr J Retnakumar, Founder and Chairman of Bhavalaya.

Gates were opened at 6 pm and visitors viewed the paintings by Omani and Indian artists followed by an interaction with the artists till the main events began at 7 pm.

Dr Yasmeen al Balushi, Dean of Muscat College was the guest of honour while Dr Shamsa al Harthy, General Director of Dar al Atta’a, Sushmita Gupta, a renowned artist and poetess delivered speeches on the topic.
