Omani Minister garners support for Expo 2020

We must all join forces to make Expo 2020 Dubai a success, says Omani minister … reports Asian Lite News.

Stressing the vital importance of Expo 2020 Dubai to the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Ali bin Mas’oud al-Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, said, ”We must all join forces to make this international high-profile gathering a success.” Speaking to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the Oman-UAE Economic Forum held recently in Omani capital, Muscat, Ali al-Sunaidy, revealed an agreement with the UAE to facilitate the registration of Small- and Medium-size Enterprises, SMEs, in the UAE so they can partner with their Emirati counterparts in efforts contributing to the success of the prestigious international expo.” He said Oman is completing a number of infrastructure projects and is developing new promising free zones where businessmen and investors in both countries can establish joint ventures.

According to him, there were 2,800 joint UAE-Omani companies and Emirati companies in Oman investing in a wide range of sectors including industry, health, education and tourism.

Expo 2020 Dubai is the first World Expo to take place in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region.

Expo 2020 Dubai runs from 20 October, 2020, to April 10, 2021. More than 200 participants, including 190 nations, multilateral organisations, corporations and educational institutions, are expected to take part under the theme: ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’. . Expo 2020 expects 25 million visits, with 70 per cent of visitors to come from outside the UAE – the largest proportion in the 168-year history of World Expos.
