Mappilapattu lovers all over UAE are invited to attend Ishal Raga Sandya conducted by OICC Sharjah on 5 April 2019 at 6 pm in Community Hall, Indian Association Sharjah.
The event will witness 10 contestants vie with each other in the Grand Finale.
Mappilapattu or Mappila Songs are a folklore Muslim song genre rendered to lyrics, within a melodic framework (Ishal), in colloquial Mappila dialect of Malayalam laced with Arabic, by the Mappilas of the Malabar region in Kerala, India.
Mappila songs have a distinct cultural identity, while at the same time remain closely linked to the cultural practices of Kerala.
