Oman set to ease restrictions

As part of its ongoing convening, Oman’s Supreme Committee tasked with tackling the spread of COVID-19 pandemic has followed up updates of measures to curb the spread infection. The body met on Wednesday, under the chairmanship of Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al-Busaidi, Minister of Interior.

The Committee reviewed preliminary reports on the total lockdown between governorates of the Sultanate (set for July 25th-August8th) and decided to lift the lockdown with effect from 6 am, Saturday the August 8th.

The Committee also decided to cut down the night-time Ban-on-Movement period so that it begins at 9 pm and ends at 5 am with effect from Saturday, August 8th till Saturday, August 15th, 2020.

Also, in accordance with insights from preliminary epidemiological indicators, the Committee decided to maintain (keep) the lockdown of the Governorate of Dhofar until further notice.
