Sharjah Ruler receives delegation from German University

Sharjah Ruler receives delegation from Germany University of Kiel … reports Asian Lite News.

H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, UoS, today received a delegation from University of Kiel – Germany.

During the meeting, which was held at Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Centre ‘Dara’ in the University City, Sheikh Sultan welcomed the visiting delegation, emphasising the importance of scientific cooperation between institutions of higher education in various fields, which contributes to the follow-up of global scientific developments and to benefit from the available resources of each institution.

The two sides also explored ways to develop academic and scientific relations between the two universities and means to benefit from the scientific potential of the two institutions. They also highlighted the importance of scientific and research exchange to enrich the scientific experience and methods of teaching and learning in higher education institutions.

Sheikh Sultan was briefed on the latest programmes offered by the University of Kiel in Germany, as well as the university’s extensive expertise in the field of specialised medical centres using the latest technological systems, thus enhancing the provision of medical services to patients and students of medical colleges.

In turn, the delegation thanked the Ruler of Sharjah for the opportunity to meet him, praising his efforts in developing and supporting the university’s scientific and academic cooperation with international institutions, making the University of Sharjah one of the leading universities in the field of medical and health sciences.

The meeting was attended by members of the Board of Trustees of the University of Sharjah, and other officials from various department of Sharjah Government.
