Al Samha Heritage Festival launched today

The 9th ‘Al Samha Heritage Festival’ welcomed visitors today at the Samha Youth Centre.

The traditional festival celebrates UAE culture, including many of its longstanding traditions and features activities related to heritage and local traditions.

Organised by the Emirates Heritage Club, EHC, under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President’s Representative, and Chairman of the EHC, the seven-day family event features heritage, cultural, social, entertaining and sports programmes.

Humaid Al Rumaithi, Director of Activities and Events at the EHC, and a number of EHC officials and Samha dignitaries attended the opening ceremony.

The event is executed by the Al Samha Boys’ Centre to achieve several objectives of the club strategy. It supports the productive family activities and supports the national identities throughout several activities of heritage and culture through the 20 activities.

With an aim to enhance public awareness of traditional events in Emirati society, the festival is designed for families and offers visitors enjoyable activities including traditional dancing such as Ayalla and Youla, a traditional market (Souq), traditional food and performances besides valuable gifts for students and participants.
