H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Creative Clusters Authority, received Ying Yong, Mayor of Shanghai, China, and his accompanying delegation.

H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Creative Clusters Authority, today received Ying Yong, Mayor of Shanghai, China, and his accompanying delegation

During the meeting, which was held at the Dubai International Financial Centre, DIFC, H.H. Sheikh Maktoum welcomed the mayor and discussed with him a number of financial, trade and investment issues of mutual interest, and the possibility of enhancing relations and exchanging of experiences and cooperation between DIFC and financial centres in Shanghai.

The Mayor of Shanghai praised the experience of DIFC, which over the past decade has attracted hundreds of international financial and investment companies and institutions headquartered in the region under a global financial law, established by the centre, to protect companies and institutions and to resolve financial disputes between them.

The parties also discussed the historic friendship and cooperation between the UAE and China and the development of these relations year after year.

The meeting was attended by Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World Group, and Chairman of the Customs and Free Zone Corporation, Abdulla Abdul Rahman Al Shaibani, Secretary-General of the Executive Council of Dubai, and Li Lingbing, Chinese Consul-General in Dubai.
