July 20, 2020

Pilgrims, who met the health standards and conditions for Hajj this year, began the procedures of home isolation that lasts 7 days, according to the health protocol approved for Hajj by the Saudi government to combat the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that health standards will be the main determinant for selecting pilgrims this year, along with the health protocol’s examination of the Coronavirus before traveling to Makkah and another house isolation after the completion of the rituals of Hajj, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Earlier the Kingdom had decided to limit the pilgrimage to people inside its physical boundaries. People from 160 nationalities who reside in Saudi were reported to have registered for the annual religious event.

The authorities which oversee the process have also stipulated rigorous health protocols for the prospective pilgrims.
