The Indian-origin businessman said the Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC) volunteers are setting standards for others to follow.

“Our world is in the agony of Corona pandemic. The country where we sought a livelihood is also facing the heat of the pandemic. The people of this country are in a long struggle to survive the onslaught of the virus. The UAE government and its wise leaders are trying to protect the expat community from the disease as they try to protect their own fellow citizens,” Mr Mohideen said in a message posted in social media.

“KMCC volunteers have also came forward to help officials and the government agencies who are engaged in fighting the pandemic. There are many who have survived the disease because of their hard-work and sincerity to support the people in need. It has been acknowledged by the authorities and the media. Our ancestors and leaders were always envisaged the tough phases like this since the early stages of the organisation.

“We must be careful not to get lost in our motives or in our thoughts while working for the betterment of the society. Don’t deviate from your aims in the glory of media limelight and people’s praises. The Holy Quran teaches us not to boast about yourself, as it is not good practice to boast about your deeds.

“We need to work hard to eradicate this epidemic. It is the duty of every volunteer to make sure that they will focus on their voluntary work and nothing will deviate from them to achieve their goals.

“It is in Allah’s way that we serve others and advance the cause of mercy. That must be the path of KMCC’s supporters. We are not in a competition or conflict with other organisations and systems. Our actions should not be made to belittle other organisations.

“We must not forget that the facilities and blessings have been given by God, and that though must be the basis of our humility. Anyone who feels that the recognition and public acceptance that we have now, is by his own merits, is equal to that of a man who cuts the branch you are sitting.

“Those who have a faith to follow and a plan to work for, should consider every moment of suffering to be worth it. Our goal is to be successful when we are constantly working on what is beneficial to all.

“It was Charles Lamb, the English writer, who wrote that ‘the most beautiful view on earth is the face of a human.”

“We are desperately trying to bring back the smile of those humans, regardless of caste, creed, nationality or language,” Mr Mohideen added. “The humanity will survive from the disease. Families, who are waiting for the expat members of the community will be relieved.”

“Let’s pray and work for a new dawn for the United Arab Emirates, which provides shelter to more than 200 nationalities. May Allah reward our workers who are vigilant in their service,” he concluded.
