Kerala Social Centre to host film festival

Kerala Social Centre to host film festival in honour of Girish Kasaravalli … reports Asian Lite News.

Kerala Social Centre will host the film festival starting from July 27th to July 29th. The film festival will include a special screening of ‘ESTIMRARIYA’, a documentary to pay respect to the founding father of the nation late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

With 14 national awards and the Padmashri to his credit, Girish Kasaravalli will screen his award winning films including DWEEPA, RIDING A STALLION OF A DREAM and HASINA.

The opening is scheduled to be held at Kerala Social Centre on Friday, July 27th with a Master Class where the veteran filmmaker will talk on cinema and interact with the audience.

To pay tribute to the legacy of the father of the Nation the late Shiekh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, KSC arranged for a special screening of ‘ESTIMRARIYA’, a short film written and directed by Ullas R Koya.

The six-minute short film, ‘Estimrariya’, which means ‘Continuance’ in Arabic, features noted businessman and philanthropist Padmashri Dr B. R. Shetty, who plays the role of an elderly Arab citizen teaching his granddaughter (Gamila Yassin) about virtues inherited from the founding father of the Nation.

All screenings are free and open to the public.
