Zayed Exhibition opens at Dubai Municipality Al Kifaf Centre, 100 photos on display; to be moved to other Dubai Muncipality centres … reports Asian Lite News.
Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality on Monday opened a photo exhibition on the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the UAE, at the Municipality’s Al Kifaf Center near Jaffilia Metro Station. The event is part of Dubai Municipality’s plan to launch several initiatives in support of the Year of Zayed 2018, announced by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The exhibition displays 100 different pictures of the official meetings of Sheikh Zayed at the local and international levels and his meetings with citizens on national celebrations in addition to the meetings of the Supreme Council of the UAE with the Rulers of other emirates. The exhibition will be moved to other centres of the Municipality after two weeks.
The exhibition was organized by the Corporate Marketing and Relations Department in the Municipality using the large photo collection in the Municipality archives that contains photos, which depict a long period of events witnessed by the UAE in general and the Emirate of Dubai in particular. The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Assistants to the Director General, Directors of Departments and Heads of Sections and a large number of employees in the Municipality.
Lootah said that the exhibition is one of the initiatives that the Municipality has decided to launch during the year in celebration of the Year of Zayed.
“The Municipality has taken great care to implement the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan by launching many initiatives dedicated to the concept of charitable and humanitarian work, on which the country has been established since the era of the late Sheikh Zayed, who directed to establish a firm approach in the field of extending humanitarian interaction with all groups and segments of different areas and levels. Dubai Municipality has been and continues to be a pioneer in this field, and has launched many initiatives in this regard in application of these wise directives inherent in the government and people of the United Arab Emirates,” he said.
Lootah added that the Municipality has worked in the light of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to involve all members of society of all ages, groups, nationalities and religions in achieving the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed locally and regionally and internationally.
“The late Sheikh Zayed knew that doing good deeds has no limits. Therefore, he will always remain as a symbol of humanitarian action on the Arab and international levels. The UAE has become a global model to follow in the field of humanitarian and development work, and established its image abroad as an address for humanitarian donations,” he pointed out.
“Sheikh Zayed had a very kind heart for all and his tolerant thought spread to all parts of the earth. His hands stretched silently to establish a relief project at times or to wipe a tear or feed another hungry person until the UAE became an umbrella for those who experienced life with troubles and crises. But he insisted that the charitable approach is the state’s approach. He always directed to do good wherever it is and always work to ensure that the UAE is proactive in helping those in need around the world,” said Lootah.
He said that the Municipality has adopted a number of initiatives for the Year of Zayed, to match the objectives of the Year of Zayed, which is aimed at different segments of the society and serves the lofty objectives of the Year of Zayed, and the Zayed Exhibition of photos during the 1970s and 1980s is an example of that.
“The emblem of the Year of Zayed will also be displayed through the social media channels of the Municipality. It has also begun using the slogan of the Year of Zayed 2018 in its correspondences as using the slogan is an expression on the importance of this national occasion and reflects on the early contribution to the publication of the logo locally and internationally to highlight the role of the late Sheikh Zayed in the establishment of the UAE and is also an extension of the Year Of Giving 2017,” said Lootah.
He expressed his pride in recalling the life of the founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the principles and values he embodied in his people and his people’s love and loyalty towards him as a symbol of patriotism and his unique and exceptional place, from which generations learn to sacrifice generously for the homeland.
The Municipality has also prepared a documentary film on the achievements of the late Sheikh Zayed, to be presented during the activities of its Car Free Day initiative, scheduled for 4th February 2018.
