Grand Imam of Al-Azhar congratulates UAE on National Day

Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayyeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, has congratulated the UAE’s leadership, government and people on 47th National Day, saying it represents one of the most historic stages of the UAE, and also remembered the founder of its modern renaissance, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

In a statement, Al-Azhar said, “On this occasion, Al Azhar Al Sharif and the Grand Imam congratulate President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and the Emirati people, wishing more progress, growth and welfare for the country.”

Al Azhar Al Sharif appreciated the stance of the UAE and its leadership to support Egypt and the Arab and Muslim peoples. It also hailed the country’s approach established by the late Founder Sheikh Zayed, which has been sustained by his sons to strengthen pillars of moderation, coexistence and openness to the whole world. It also prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the soul of Sheikh Zayed in Paradise who not only lived and worked for the sake of his people but also for other nations worldwide.
